Determining the DirectX version
Microsoft Windows includes a DirectX Diagnostic tool that you can run to determine
what version of DirectX is installed on your computer.
To determine the DirectX version
- From the Start menu, select Run.
- Type dxdiag and click OK.
- In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool dialog, select No.
- The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. On the System tab, look for DirectX
Version.
- Make note of the version and click Exit.
- If you do not have DirectX 9.0 or greater,
upgrade your version.
