Viewing MPEG and
wavelet images
Installing the MPEG components
The first time you view a study that contains an MPEG, the MPEG components
must be downloaded and installed on your computer. The MPEG components include
DirectX and the Agfa MPEG components. On Internet Explorer, the components are
downloaded automatically. On Netscape, you must click on the DirectX and Agfa
MPEG components links to start the downloads. The components are unpacked and
installed with a few prompts to you.
If prompted, you must reboot your computer after DirectX installs. Return to and the same study to continue with the Agfa MPEG components install.
Note: If you choose not to install the
MPEG components, you will view MPEGs as wavelets in Cine mode.
To install the MPEG components
- Search for a study
with an MPEG.
- Select the study
and open it in the Display page.
- In the Security Warning dialog, click the link.
- A browser window opens. In Internet Explorer,
the Java applet automatically detects what version of DirectX is running.
In Netscape, you must click the DirectX
link. Your screen will go dark for a moment; this is expected behavior.
- The DirectX install starts. In the File Download dialog, click Open.
- To accept the license, click Yes.
- Click Install.
- Click OK.
- If prompted, reboot the machine.
- Log into the client again and select the same study.
- In the Security Warning dialog, click the link.
- A browser window opens. In Internet Explorer,
the Agfa MPEG components install starts automatically. In Netscape,
you must click the Agfa MPEG Components link.
- Select Run this program from its current location.
- Click OK.
- In the Security Warning dialog, click Yes.
- In the Install Shield Wizard, click Next.
- Click Finish.
- If you are prompted, restart your computer. Otherwise you will view MPEGs
as wavelets in Cine mode until you reboot.
