Intended use statement

The  software and the computer platform constitute a system for viewing of medical image data by trained and qualified professionals. The system is intended for use in the assembly, organization, sharing, and display of patient images and demographic information for review and referral purposes only. The  applet can be used for viewing images over a hospital intranet or over the Internet from a remote location. Images stored on  are transient, as  is not intended to be an archiving device.

Regarding measurements, measurements are standardized to the pixel information as they relate to the original image. Measurement tools in  transcribe the pixel information into the measurement, not based on the image displayed on , but on the original capture. The original image obtained the pixel measurement data at the time of capture.

When using  for purposes other than its intended use such as a supporting tool for surgical planning or procedures, it is at the user's discretion with acknowledgement of the stated warnings against such usage.

Intended use for scouts

The Display Scout tool in  is enabled for CT and MR images but not all CT or MR images offer Scouts. The Display Scout option allows you to navigate quickly to the part of the body that the image was taken in the study. This tool opens a small window with an image of the examined body part with a line through it. The line represents the slice where the image was taken. Scout lines in  are provided as a tool to assist in navigation only, they should not be used without a supporting tool when precision is required.
