Cardiology Non-invasive Workflow: The Patient's View

At its simplest, a workflow is a sequence of events, initiated by a trigger event, such as when a study is scheduled. For a patient, a non-invasive scheduled study cardiology workflow begins when the patient visits their family physician with symptoms such as chest pains, fatigue, or difficulty breathing, and ends when they receive the diagnosis and treatment options from their cardiologist or physician.

If necessary, the non-invasive diagnostic workflow is followed by an invasive diagnostic workflow.

The following topics outline a typical, simplified workflow for a scheduled study from the patient's perspective:

  1. Pre-Acquisition
  2. Acquisition
  3. Reporting
  4. Results Distribution
