Measuring a round or oblong area on an image

Use the Ellipse Markup tool to measure a round or oblong area. The following measurements are provided:

• Number of pixels
• Perimeter
• Area
• Average Greys (Hounsfield units for CT)
• Deviation

If the image is uncalibrated, the distance, area, and perimeter are given in units of pixels rather than millimeters.

To measure a round or oblong area

1. Click Markup ellipse.
2. Click where you would like to center the ellipse.
3. To define the edge of the ellipse, click again.
4. To define the corner of the ellipse, click a final time.
