Searching and retrieving available reports from a remote broker

Broker has become a vital middleware component in the integration between Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Radiology PACS Systems. PACS and modalities typically speak DICOM, while hospital information systems generally speak HL7. Many of these systems also speak via other proprietary protocols (such as ASCII or SQL). Broker links patient and exam data with images, provides worklists to modalities, displays reports on workstations, triggers pre-fetching on PACS, and much more.  can retrieve available reports from the Broker.

To search a remote Broker

1. Set the Location constraint to the name of the remote Broker you want to search.
2. Select your other search criteria and constraints.

3. Click Search for Studies.
