Locating Studies on a Remote PACS

A remote PACS device is any DICOM device that can store images, such as an archive or cached review station. You can search a remote PACS device for a list of studies that match a set of search constraints. While searching a remote PACS, the images stored there may be retrieved by the  Serverso that you can view them in your web browser.

Note Note: When querying a remote PACS for a modality, you must include a second query constraint to further narrow the search results. A query on a modality could cause performance problems due to the large volume of studies at the sites.

To search a remote PACS

  1. Set the Location constraint to the name of the remote PACS you want to search.
  2. Select your search criteria and constraints.
  3. See Search Criteria for more information on the search criteria and constraints.

  4. Click Search for Studies.
