Selecting studies for viewing

When you submit a query, searches through all the available studies and lists only those that match your criteria, in the Display list. Before you can view images or reports, you must select the study (or studies) to be viewed.

The results of your search are sorted before being displayed on screen. In the Display list, click a column heading to sort the search results by that column information. Studies for the same patient are grouped together in a folder that appears above the first study for the patient. By default, the folder is collapsed.

Note: The folder icon is not a study itself. It is a container for studies belonging to the same patient. If you select the folder and perform an action (such as viewing images), all studies inside the folder are selected. If you select a study inside the folder, only that study is selected.

To select one or more studies for viewing

To select a single study, click the study.
To select multiple, inconsecutive studies, press the Ctrl key and click the studies.
To select multiple, consecutive studies, press the Shift key and click the first and last studies.
To select all the studies for a patient, click the folder icon next to the patient name.

To show all of a patient's studies

To expand the folder to show all of a patient's studies, click expand (+) beside the folder.
To collapse the folder to show only the patient name and ID, click collapse (-) beside the folder.

To sort studies

To sort the studies, click the appropriate column heading. For example, click the Modality column to sort by modality.
To reverse the sort order, click the same column heading again.
