: Cannot connect to the  Server even though it is accessed on a LAN

I connect to the  Server on a Local Area Network (LAN) that requires no special proxy configuration. However, I cannot connect.

In an enterprise that uses the Internet, a proxy server acts as an intermediary between a workstation and the Internet. Using a proxy server, the enterprise ensures security, administrative control, and caching service. You may have proxy settings that are misconfigured.

Verify that your browser is not set use a proxy server.

To update Internet Explorer

  1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
  2. Click the Connections tab.
  3. Click LAN settings.
  4. Deselect the Use Proxy server option.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.

To update Netscape Navigator

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. Select Proxies from the Advanced category.
  3. Select the Direct Connection to the Internet option.
  4. Click OK.

To disable the proxy in  

  1. From the  login screen, click Proxy Settings.
  2. Verify that Disable proxy is checked.
  3. Click OK.
