Using lossy compression
Compression reduces the file size of an image and is used if you are transmitting images to a station via a slow connection. Lossy compression is a method of compressing an image which results in a slight reduction of image quality. However, for non-diagnostic purposes such as the display, the reduction incurred is minimal.
